                               RESOLUTION NO. 18872
                  
                  
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
                   REQUEST CARTA TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO
                   THE URBAN MASS TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (UMTA)
                   FOR FUNDING FOR THE DOWNTOWN TRANSPORTATION
                   SYSTEM AND TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS
                   NECESSARY IN SUPPORT THEREOF.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor be and is hereby 
authorized
       to request CARTA to submit an application to the Urban Mass
       Transit Administration (UMTA) for funding for the downtown
       transportation system; and
       	    	 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Mayor be and is hereby
       authorized to execute all documents necessary in support thereof.
